Odyssey LogText Box: Over the years I have been (and can still be) heard on various radio stations commenting on astronomy, spaceflight and history subjects. The subjects that I have studied, written about and performed on.

The first radio station I was heard on was BRMB Radio commenting on Mary Whitehouse’s criticism of Dr. Who! Mrs. Whitehouse considered the science fiction series too frightening for children, and as a child I wanted to give my opinion. I told Mrs. Whitehouse that “If you think it is so frightening then don’t watch it, and let those of us who enjoy it continue in peace.”

It was at BRMB that I first spoke to Ed Doolan, many years later I became a regular on his afternoon programme at BBC Radio WM discussing astronomy. I have a long association with BBC Radio WM. For many years from the 1990s I was a guest on The Late Show, where for an hour every six weeks I would talk about astronomy and the latest space activities, answering questions from the public. In 1998 I worked with The Late Show on producing a ‘War of the Worlds’ special to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Orson Welles broadcast.

I was a regular guest with Jenny Wilkes on her afternoon programme talking about space matters.

My knowledge of local history and the famous liner ‘Titanic’ has attracted attention from a number of presenters at the BBC and I often comment on various aspects of local history. I have been a guest of Dr. Carl Chinn discussing my Titanic exhibition and book.
O write and narrate Amaze & Astound with Andy Lound’ on Mollie Green’s programme and provide an history segment on her podcast the Happy Garden.
On th Caroline Martin show I provided historical pieces under the title Ask Andy Anything and Surprise Caroline.
On Talk Sport I provide space science updates as ‘Mr Spaceman with Paul Ross.
I also comments on space matters on the Unexplained with Howard Hughes (Talk Radio).

Text Box: As with radio I have been involved in a number of news items and programmes on television. All the way back to the days of ATV in the midlands I have appeared in various guises covering various subjects. Many time local television has covered events I have either organized or been involved with. My association with MADE IN BIRMINGHAM TELEVISION sates from the beginnings of the station where I have appeared covering a number of subjects. I have commented on space science and astronomy, Titanic, local history and even giving historical political comments. I wrote and co-presented the highly popular STREETS OF BIRMINGHAM history series.

As a registered supporting artiste (film extra) I have appeared in the background on a number of television shows. Notable I was in the BBC drama DANCING ON THE EDGE and played a supporting role in TIME CRASHERS where I was a guest of the land owner in the 18th century episode.

Promoting space science in 1996 I was invited onto THE BIG BREAKFAST where I talked about Mars Exploration and SETI research. SKY NEWS covered my work with telerobotics first demonstrated at the Birmingham Museum of Science & Industry. I have also appeared with the Late Sir Patrick Moore on the Gloria Hunniford Show describing my work on promoting space science.
