Table Soccer, Cricket, Rugby, Hockey
Text Box: Subbuteo was developed by Peter Adolph in 1947 and in just a few years grew into a world-wide phenomenon with dining room tables in many countries being used to play important matches. Parents and children have had many shared experiences over the years. With the introduction of numerous accessories such as TV crews, ball boys, police, bench sets and later stadia with spectators the name Subbuteo became the most popular of football games.
The game seemed to die away from the 1990s as trends changed to computers, but, during COVID-19 lockdowns, Subbuteo sets came out of attics and lofts and a new generation was introduced to the game. Parents recaptured the magic and Subbuteo is once again seen as the table football game.
